How to Preserve the Best Available Quality from an X Video

A repeatable workflow for finding the original post, comparing X media variants, verifying the MP4, and avoiding unnecessary re-encoding.

The best downloadable X video is the highest-quality variant the platform currently exposes for that public post. It is not necessarily the creator's camera master, and no downloader can restore information X removed during compression. The useful goal is therefore to identify the correct source post, select the strongest available variant, and avoid damaging it afterward.

1. Open the original media-owning post
